Summary

In Chapter 14, Khai did not try to kiss Esme again because he was afraid if he started a physical relationship with her that he would get hurt. He already sensed he was getting addicted to her. On the way to the second wedding, Khai told Esme the Berkley alumni woman had given him a list of 1,000 names of men who could be her father. A friend of Quan’s was helping to sort through the list.

The wedding was at the Seafood Plaza, a choice that pleased Esme. She started to take Khai’s arm as they walked inside but remembered that he did not like that.
