Summary

In Chapter 5, Khai woke with water dripping onto his face. Esme stood over him, telling him she thought she had broken his shower. Khai was embarrassed to get up because he had woken with an erection. He was even more embarrassed when he had to get into the running shower to turn off all the lights and side jets she had unintentionally turned on.

Alone, Khai was upset not only by the way his body had reacted to Esme but also because his Sunday schedule had been disrupted. He tried to complete his exercise routine, but was distracted by Esme working in the yard. She was cutting down a tree with a meat cleaver, wearing Hammer pants, and no bra. He finally escaped to his office. Esme was dismayed when she discovered that he had disappeared.
