Chapter 7 Summary

Vittorio, Patrick, Rossi and Brenda pile into Rossi's car to get out of the rain. They begin discussing the circumstances of Freda's death. Patrick says that Freda must have died from a fall because when he saw her in the grass she was already dead. Vittorio notices the cut on Patrick's eye and remembers how Freda thought she saw Patrick in the bushes. Rossi is whimpering and shaking in the front seat of the car. Brenda wonders how she will tell Freda's aunt and wonders if Freda intended for the van to be missing so that the outing would be a smaller group. Patrick says that they can't just leave the body there, that they have to get Freda out of the rain. It finally hits Brenda that Freda is dead and she.....
