Hunt and Thieves Summary

Four days later, Ben and Dirk meet a hunter that tells them about his encounter with the black unicorn. He tells them that the King has assembled a hunting party to net the black unicorn. The King is paying them money and providing them food for a month in order to capture the creature.

The hunter tells them that it is on the third day of the hunt that he finally spotted the black unicorn. The hunter says it stared at him and then flew away in a graceful motion. It flew right into the heart of the hunting group but eluded all of the nets that were trying to capture it. After that, the hunting party broke up. He says Abernathy and Questor got thrown out of the palace by the King after that.
