Chapters 6-10 Summary

In chapter six, Julie Dakota drives around the Decodyne building. Two gunmen are firing into the van as she reaches the street. Julie uses the car as a weapon, hitting one of the men. Julie fires at the van the second man has leapt into. Leaping from her car, Julie runs to Bobby's van. Bobby climbs out of the van, unharmed. The police arrive and the couple agree that they should have the officers assist in the search for Rasmussen in case he is armed.

In chapter seven, Frank Pollard rides in the truck for a few blocks, then finds a car with the keys under the front mat. Driving for a while, Frank finally pulls over, for the first time feeling safe enough to stop and see if he has any identification. Frank's pockets are empty, so he unzips the...
