Part 4: Chapters 52 - 54 Summary

Chapter 52 begins with Knoll lurking outside of the Loring Castle. He is excited that Monkia had given him permission to invade the Loring Caslte. He backs off when he hears police cars. The police question Suanne and Loring, but have little interest in actually investigating the great Loring family. Meanwhile Paul, Rachel, and Wayland make their way to Loring's castle, determined to find answers. Loring comes out to greet the visitors. The four settle in for a snack as Wayland launches into accusing Loring of stealing the Amber Room. He demands money. Paul and Rachel are shocked and want no part in the extortion deal. Loring suggests that his three visitors stay the night.

In Chapters 53 and 54, Loring sends a servant to Suzanne instructing her to use the back passages of the house. Meanwhile, Knoll continues sneaking on Loring's...
