Part 3: Chapters 35 - 39 Summary

In Chapters 35 & 36, Paul and Rachel make their way to visit Wayland McKoy, who is currently excavating caves for art treasure in Stod Germany. Rachel and Paul quickly give Wayland the details of their journey, but are interrupted by some progress in the caves. Wayland allows them to venture into the caves with him. Upon entering the group discovers 4 Bussing Nags or trucks and two bodies with bullet holes in their heads. Paul notices a wallet in the sand and quickly picks it up before anyone notices. Their is writing in the wallet, but Paul cannot make it out. Paul watches as Herr Doctor Alfred Grumer, Wayland's employee, erases the letters O I C from the sand. As the party moves deeper into the cave, Wayland becomes incensed. The site is empty nothing is there! Wayland's investors will be furious...
