Summary

In Chapter 24, as they drive away, Riley looks back at the group around the green truck and thinks Erik can be seen among those who are huddled around Vickers. Riley asks Bec if Erik was at the game, and if he is still trying to fit in with the football team. Bec tells Riley that she is not sure and has not really paid attention to Erik recently.

Bec changes the subject and asks Riley if they would like to go to the movies with her. Bec drives to a 7-Eleven and gets snacks — a slim Jim, mini Oreos and grape soda. Back in the car she drives to an abandoned office building. The two climb to the roof where they can see a movie being projected onto the wall of a building facing the one onto which they have climbed.
