Chapters 35-39 Summary

In chapter 35, Tomsic arrives and takes over the scene. Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Earle are medivaced to the hospital. Elvis then picks up Mrs. Earle at the hospital and takes her with him, Rossi, and Pike to Anna Sherman's office. Elvis tells Sherman all he knows and the others add their stories to the evidence. Sherman continues to hesitate until Elvis hands over the retainer agreement for Martin's case to show motive. Sherman acts urgently then because Martin was granted bail that morning.

In chapter 36, the Feds attempt to stop Teddy Martin from fleeing to Rio de Janeiro, but by the time they get word, Teddy's plane is already in the air. There is nothing anyone can do about it now because there is not extradition treaty with Brazil. However, Sherman decides to go forward and arrest Green. Elvis and Rossi...
