Point of View

Summer Knight is a novel that follows the events that surround the life of Harry Dresden, a wizard, who lives in Chicago. The novel is written in the first person, from the point of view of Harry Dresden. This point of view allows the reader insight into the thoughts and feelings of Dresden as the novel progresses. This is significant not only for the sake of the plot, but also so the reader can follow the emotional changes in Dresden.

The novel is written in mostly equal parts of descriptive passages and exposition on the part of Harry Dresden, as well as dialogue.
