Chapter 17 Summary

Zane and Danica go straight to the sha'Mhay when they return. They tell Valene and A'isha everything that has happened. A'isha says they can save Rei because he is a dancer and the court learned long ago that they cannot contain a dancer. She sends a soldier to look for the falcon merchant to see if he might have information that can help them, but his house is cleared out. One of the serpents speaks against endangering their lives to help liars. He backs down when Danica speaks up and admits that he doesn't know Rei and Kel and will do as his Naga and Diente wish him to do. Zane is pouring over the old texts to see if there is any information that can help them.
