Chapter 13 Summary

Nacola Shardae, Danica's mother, speaks. It makes ice run through Zane's veins because he and Nacola dislike each other greatly. She mentions finding out from the guard that she is going to be a grandmother; she also says she hadn't believed it would be possible. Zane says they have enough in common, the human side of each species, to create a child.

Nacola starts questioning how the child will be raised. Danica says they haven't decided yet. Zane assures Nacola that if need be she will be raised as a Tuuli Thea and he will make Salem heir to his throne.
