Chapters 8 and 9 Summary

Zane's anger still shows as he walks away from the marketplace. A'isha intercepts him and convinces him to dance with her. Dancing relaxes Zane. When he heads toward the room where Danica is asleep, he hears her cry out. He rushes into the room to find she is having a nightmare.

They discuss her nightmare. It is similar to what really happened when she and Rei had been young children. They had been surrounded by serpents, but Rei had saved her. The next day, he had started training for the avian army. They discuss traveling to see her mother. Danica says she is fine to travel and she knows Zane would be disappointed if he didn't get to see her mother.

They head to the stables to board their horses for their journey. Rei and Erica are teasing each other about...
