Chapter 5 Summary

Zane and Danica wake the next morning to knocking at the door letting them know Syfka is back. Zane tells Danica he'll go alone because of the falcon beliefs about children. Syfka is not pleased to see Valene is acting as an adviser to Zane. Zane tells Syfka they don't know of any falcon hiding among their people. Syfka demands to speak to Danica's elite, specifically the Royal Flight.

As Zane is protesting that someone could masquerade so close to Danica, a mother and her son start having an argument over an interspecies relationship her son is having. As Zane and Syfka return to their conversation, Syfka continues to be appalled at the fact that one of the guards of the palace is a white serpent.
