Visiting Day/Faith Summary

Visiting Day. Lia's parents come to visit for the first time since she started rehab. Her sister Zo is with them and this is the first time she has seen Lia's new body. The atmosphere is uncomfortable and the conversation between Lia and her parents is strained. Zo ignores her for most of the visit. Though her parents fill the time with small-talk, Lia sees that they are treating her the way they would treat a stranger; cordial, but distant. After an hour her parents leave and Lia spends a moment alone with Zo. She asks Zo if people at school are asking about her, and Zo tells her that the world has managed to continue to rotate on its axis without her, showing an unexpected cruelty. Though the sisters have never been close they have never been enemies...
