Chapter 6 - Getting to Know Michael Summary

Dawn is excited when she is chosen to be one of the six students in Michael Sutton's class. When she tells Madame Steichen about being chosen to work with Michael, she is not impressed. She says that Michael is not an artist, but only a performer. As she walks home after her lesson, Dawn is surprised to hear Michael speak to her. He invites her for a cup of coffee. He tells Dawn that he is intrigued by her and that he believes that she will be his star pupil. He invites her to a recital that evening at the Museum of Modern Art.
