Summary

As the Ibis sets out into the open ocean, people begin to get seasick. The conditions below deck are so awful that one man drowns in his own vomit. Deeti learns from another woman who listens to her stomach that she might be pregnant. Every day at noon, Captain Chillingworth comes on deck to chart the Ibis’ course with the two mates.
