The warden leads the trio into his room, which is comfortable and beautifully decorated. Attia still has the glove hidden in her shirt. Rix, Attia and Keiro eat. The warden warns Keiro that he cannot leave Incarceron because Keiro is made of parts of Incarceron. The warden admits he stole Claudia from Incarceron as a baby because he needed an heir.

Metlicote is one of the Steel Wolves. They plan to kill Caspar because he has seen who they are. The Steel Wolves don't believe that Finn is the real Giles. Medlicote says the warden would have told them if he was planning to put Finn in as Giles.
