Esche is hurt deeply from what has happened between her and Manny, and she is finding it difficult to conceal from her brothers. She compares her story to that of Medea's from Jason and the Argonauts. When she finally draws herself out of bed, she checks on Daddy, and agrees to take Junior to the dog fight. They go to Skeetah, who is busy washing China and arguing with Randall. Randall is upset that Skeetah plans to take China to the fight in the first place.
