The Sixth Day: A Steady Hand Summary

The next morning, Esche watches her Daddy in the backyard as he tears down the chicken coop and waits for Skeet to return inside. She finally decides to offer her help to Skeetah, who is in the shed with China and the puppies. He does not look well. He has been up all night, convinced that something is wrong with China, and that Manny may have deliberately given him bad advice about the dewormer in order to poison her. Esche manages to convince him to take a break from looking after the dogs and sends him inside to clean himself up. Junior stays with Esche, and wants to hold the puppies, which he is not allowed to do, and Esche becomes very angry with him. When he refuses to let go of a puppy, she grabs him...
