Summary

Chapter 27

A huge storm blows through town as preparations are being made for the Shrimporee. The town is afraid that they will have to cancel the festival for the first time in history. During the storm, Fiona brings over games for the family to play. When the lightning and thunder grow loud and Fiona jumps, Griff holds her hand as comfort and brings it to his lips to kiss. The entire family is touched by this. Luckily, the storm ends before the festivities, but the town will have to scramble to still make it on time. Everyone in town helps out. Private homes boil shrimp and cook jambalaya and étouffée for the festival. Shops close, and workers help clear the roads and prepare the festival grounds.
