Chapter 15: In a Sewer Summary and Analysis

Slim calls Sweet, but his paranoia gets the best of him and he starts to wonder if Sweet is conning him like he once did Preston. He decides Sweet is trustworthy, but he is still stuck in a small, one-bedroom apartment, hiding from the F.B.I. Chris knows where he lives, but it is important for Slim to keep up the pretenses of being a pimp with everything under control and so he never tells her how worried he is. To keep the other whores from worrying, he and Chris pretend to call from New York with Chris acting as the phone operator.
