Chapter 21 Summary

Tommy says he knows that Katie didn't paint the wall. He says he knows she just admitted it because she felt guilty for not stopping Sidney, Seth and whoever else was involved in painting it. Tommy says he was there that night. He watched as Seth painted the "F" and then Katie ripped the can from his hands and wrote freak. Katie admits she did it because she and Tommy were friends.

Tommy ends up admitting the reason he came back is to be the sports columnist at the Gazette. He also gives Katie her camera, saying Mr. Bird and Mr. Gatch paid for it because they hate the Quahogs as much as Tommy and Katie do. Tommy also says Mr. Gatch expects her to work it off by taking pictures for the paper. Tommy also hands Katie back the $1,600 she had paid...
