Chapter 3 Summary

Dirk sits in a bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel thinking over the events of the day. He talks to Captain Orl Cinana about the Starbuck. Cinana doesn't think it will be found. After Capt. Cinana departs, his old girlfriend, Adrian Hunter, daughter of Admiral Hunter arrives. As they are talking, another woman arrives and gets into a verbal battle with Adrian and then they both go outside together. The mysterious redhead, named Summer, showing signs of having been in a fight with Adrian. Dirk leaves with Summer, who attacks him on the beach. He knocks her out and finds a syringe in her hand. He pockets the clear liquid syringe, lifts Summer over his shoulder, and heads back to his hotel.

Summer regains consciousness in his hotel room and stops Dirk from calling.....
