Chapters 16-21 Summary

Odd is frightened by Fungus Man's appearance. However, Fungus Man disappears when Ozzie comes back into the room. Odd and Ozzie talk for a short time. Ozzie, a writer, talks to Odd about how Odd is wasting his writing talent. Ozzie and Odd became acquainted when Ozzie judged an essay contest at the high school and Odd wrote the winning essay. Ever since, Ozzie has mentored Odd, encouraging him to use his God given gift. However, Odd is not interested in being a writer. When they run out of refreshments, Odd goes into the kitchen to retrieve more. When Odd enters the kitchen, he discovers the kitchen door is open. Odd goes to close it and sees Fungus Man out in the yard. Odd chases after him, but loses him in the woods behind the house. Odd returns to Ozzie and...
