Chapters 5-7 Summary

Odd is working the grill at the Pico Mundo Grille when a stranger comes in. The man orders enough food for two people. As Odd works on the large order, he notices a group of bodachs have followed the stranger into the diner. Odd studies the stranger, dubbing him Fungus Man in his mind, based on cheesy color of his hair and the waxy appearance of his skin. Odd feels uneasy about the man. Odd knows from experience that when bodachs are attracted to a specific person, it is usually because that person is about to commit some tragic crime, like the young man who murdered his entire family.
