Summary

Chapter 32 takes place in the full bloom of spring, as Alex walks with Dawes to Sandow’s funeral. Ever since Alex’s battle with Belbalm, she can now hear the ghosts she sees around her speaking and breathing. Alex also has not seen North since that day, and wonders if he is taking time to recover from Belbalm’s death. Alex had shown the Lethe board a recording of Sandow’s confession she had secretly obtained, which Lethe chose to cover up so that others would not try to copy his homicidal ritual. In the end, Blake has been left with the blame for Tara’s death, Sandow is reported as dying from a sudden heart attack, and Belbalm is simply reported as missing.
