Summary

Chapter 12 begins with Alex and Dawes’ entry into Wolf’s Head’s tomb, with the Bridegroom following behind. Alex manages to get a statue that was stolen from Wolf’s Head as a prank, and uses it to bribe her way into their tomb. Dawes expresses her discomfort in having the ghost with them, and Alex promises Dawes she will break their bond after the ritual.

Alex and Dawes arrive at the tomb and are greeted by Salome Nils, the Wolf’s Head president. Salome leads them into the tomb and takes the statue as payment. However, Salome refuses to hold up her end of the deal, and does not open the temple. Alex decides to threaten Salome into letting them in. When she still refuses, Alex gets Salome in a chokehold.
