Summary

Part Three is titled The Darkness of Dragons. In Chapter 18, Kinkajou is already in the infirmary when Moon wakes the next morning. Moon silently asks Darkstalker if he can identify the two dragons from the dream she encountered. Darkstalker says he can see the future and knows that Moon will confront that dragon “and you will wind up dead. Which would be unfortunate, both because I quite like you, and because then I might have to wait another thousand years to be rescued” (179). Darkstalker says there are futures in which Moon dies in various ways over the coming weeks. He pledges to do what he can to protect her and Moon sets out to soothe herself. Qibli arrives.
