Point of View

This novel is told through the first person point of view of three different narrators. Viola, Todd, and the Spackle referred to as 1017 by the humans and The Return by the rest of the Spackle act as narrators. This trio of narrators is important because they each tell a different side of the story. Viola tells the side of the story that she experiences as she stays with the scout ship and the people who are following Mistress Coyle. Todd, on the other hand, stays with the Mayor and tells the story of what he experiences as he works with this man. Because the humans have divided into two factions, it is important that each have a person to tell the side of the story from each faction. The Spackle, whom the other Spackle call the Return, rounds out the story as the third narrator...
