Section 12: Chapters 18 & 19 Summary

In Chapter 18, Nathaniel is waiting in the living room when Turquoise returns, and after Eric excuses himself to put their purchases away, Nathaniel notes that the boy has spent too much time around vampires but is no worse off than Turquoise. He tells her that Jeshickah's sister belongs to Siete who created all vampires so Siete would seek vengeance against Turquoise for Jeshickah's death, and he would have prevented her if he had known who her target at Midnight had been. Nathaniel also admits that he has helped Turquoise for free because he considers her a friend. He continues to tell Turquoise about his time spent in Midnight as a human and how Jeshickah trained him. When he asks about Turquoise's plan, she tells him about the Challenge she must fight at Bruja, but she realizes hunting has consumed her, though...
