Section 6: Chapters 8 & 9 Summary

In Chapter 8, Jaguar releases Turquoise reluctantly, and she regains her senses when a throat clearing in the doorway reveals Lord Daryl, causing her to panic. It is obvious that Jaguar dislikes Daryl as he asks what the other vampire wants, holding Turquoise against him protectively which Turquoise knows could be dangerous since Daryl has always been jealous. Daryl recognizes Catherine immediately, and after a brief conversation about Jeshickah staying at Midnight, Jaguar dismisses Daryl. Turquoise plans to explore the courtyard, but she encounters Ravyn seeming in near trouble with Gabriel yet she lets Ravyn handle it since Ravyn shakes her off. When Ravyn returns to their room, she tells Turquoise that she has a plan, but she refuses to discuss it until she sleeps. Since it is midday and few people are awake, Turquoise takes the opportunity to attempt the courtyard...
