Section 3: Chapters 3 & 4 Summary

In Chapter 3, Ravyn is thoroughly amused by the charade at first, but she becomes less excited as they discuss the finer details of slavery. Nathaniel advises them that "a slave isn't supposed to think; she just obeys" (page 23). When Ravyn asks about Jeshickah, Nathaniel tells her that Jaguar was Jeshickah's favorite, but Jeshickah does not seem to be involved with this new project so far. Turquoise refrains from asking more for fear of revealing their target. Nathaniel warns them not to raise a hand against their trainer without being certain they can kill him and warns them they must enter without weaponry. Nathaniel also advises Turquoise to use her birth name because her current alias is too easy to track, plus it will be easier to convince people she's been bounced around in the slave trade for the past few years...
