Kentucky (1960-90’s)

Teddi’s family farm is located in Kentucky. Teddi grew up on the farm and frequently returns at later parts in her life. She eventually gives the farm to Gabe so he can turn it into an animal clinic. Teddi’s brother, Josh, lives in and patrols the forested areas in Kentucky.

Charleston, South Carolina (1970-90’s)

Charleston is where the majority of the book takes place. Teddi has her home and business in Charleston. Her best friend, Olivia, also lives in Charleston, as does Teddi’s boyfriend, Sam.

Audrey Clayton Home (1990’s)

The Audrey Clayton Home is a nursing home where Teddi’s grandmother, Belle, stays. Teddi visits her a few times throughout the book and pays out of pocket for her grandmother to stay.
