Summary

In Chapter 15, Serenity believes it is with a superhuman force that she shoves Thomas away from Jenna and the caught the girl before she hit the floor. Virgil smacks Thomas so hard he falls back into his chair. The orderlies come running and ask Serenity if she is all right. Serenity says she is, but realizes there is something strange going on in the energy surrounding Thomas. The orderlies say they’re going to sedate Thomas and suggest Serenity and Jenna come back later. Virgil had already left the room. As Serenity walks Jenna down the hall, she notices the patients are openly staring but the caregivers seem to be pretending not to see her.

At the car, Virgil tells Serenity and Jenna that another employee had suggested that Thomas had been abusing Alice. At this suggestion Jenna extrapolates that...
