Chapters 29 and 30 Summary

In Chapter 29, as Dimitri, Sonya, Jill, and Rose drive toward Court, Sonya tries to keep the shock of killing Victor away from Rose. Dimitri and Sonya dispose of Victor's body along the way. Back at Court, the janitor, Joe, has been dragged in for questioning. He admits seeing the same Moroi that tried to attack Lissa in the building the night the queen was murdered, which helps to take some of the suspicion off Rose. Lissa also shares the anonymous letter that shows there was political motivation to kill the queen. Lissa returns to her room with Janine and Christian. Adrian enters to tell them that he found Serena, who was one of the guardians on duty when St. Vladimir's was attacked by Strigoi and Grant, the one secretly training Morois to defend themselves under the queen's direction, was killed.
