Summary

In Chapter 23, Aaron takes Dannie to the rooftop of a nearby building where he worked. She asks what he loves about Bella, wondering if he loves Bella like she does. Dannie gets a call from the doctors saying Bella’s surgery is going well. Dannie sees the relief and love in Aaron’s eyes which “mirrors” her own (154).

They return to the hospital. Outside, David waits for Dannie to offer support.

In the waiting room when the surgery is over, the doctor allows one visitor to see Bella. Dannie tells Aaron he should go, believing Bella would want that. She is happy Bella has finally found love.

In Chapter 24, Bella is in recovery. Dannie and Aaron spend all their time keeping her company.
