Chapter 85-90, Conner to Vanessa Summary

In Chapter 85, Conner doesn't know if he is ready to go home. That his parents made Emily move demonstrates the incredible control they have. Raven explains that to use the bathroom in the wilderness means burying it, so mountain lions don't detect the scent.

In Chapter 86, Tony and the others make camp for the night. Raven shows them how to build shelter, gives them sleeping bags, and just enough clothing for the next three weeks. Everyone gathers around the fire for a light dinner, except Conner, who remains by himself.

In Chapter 87, except for medication, no vices or bad habits are permitted. Vanessa looks at the stars and how beautiful the landscape is. Raven and Sean explain that they are there to help the kids, but that they will have to rely on each other...
