Chapters 19-20 Summary

In chapter 19, Roy gets permission from his parents to attend the Mother Paula ceremony. At the site, Officer Delinko is preparing to go home when Muckle arrives with Kimberly Lou Dixon. Officer Delinko reluctantly remains at the site to show Ms. Dixon to the construction trailer so she can change her clothes.

In chapter 20, the ceremony begins with Muckle showing around the local politicians. Roy arrives with Beatrice and is happy to discover that most of his history class have come along with most of Beatrice's soccer team. When Kimberly Lou Dixon begins to make her speech, Roy heckles her, commenting on how they are about to kill the owls. This causes Ms. Dixon to become upset because she does not want to hurt owls.
