Chapter 15 Summary

Stephanie rushes up to her apartment to call the police. Unfortunately, Shempsky is there waiting for her. Shempsky tied Briggs up and put him in the closet. Now Shempsky plans to kill Stephanie. First, however, Stephanie gets him to tell her all about his crimes. Shempsky says that he played poker with Grizzoly's accountant and three accountants from various companies around town including the garbage company and the cable company. They came up with a scheme to make some extra pocket money by keeping some customers off the company rolls and cashing the payments themselves. However, Lipinski's wife found out and demanded that he get the money now. Lipinski panicked everyone and they pushed Shempsky to give them their share, but Shempsky had made some investments and lost the majority of the money. Then Lipinski killed his wife and the two of them...
