Chapters12-13 Summary

Stephanie tells Morelli her theories about her uncle's disappearance after the explosion. Stephanie gets the impression that she and Morelli are working on the same case, especially after he confirms for her that Bunchy is not a bookie. Morelli tells Stephanie to back off, suggesting she get out of town for a while, but Stephanie refuses. Ranger shows up and takes Stephanie to dinner. They talk for a while and Stephanie learns some things about Ranger's past she did not know. Things seem to heat up between them when Ranger drops her off at home, so Stephanie rushes off. At home, Stephanie calls her friend Mary Lou and asks her to help spy on Morelli. This is not the first time they have done this, and like before, they get caught.
