Chapters 2-3 Summary

Stephanie returns to Briggs' apartment building. When she establishes that he is not home, Stephanie gets the key from the manager. Stephanie waits in the apartment until a note is slid under the door letting her know he does not plan to come home until she leaves. Stephanie goes home to reflect on the day's events. Ranger comes over with dinner and tells Stephanie that he wants her help with a redecorating job the following day. Ranger picks Stephanie up before dawn and takes her with three other guys over to an apartment building in a seedy part of town. Stephanie, Ranger, and his men barge into an apartment and forcefully evict the drug dealer and addict who lives there, then remove all his things.
