Summary

In Chapter 55, Dirk met Felix at a cafe in town. Dirk attempted to dissuade Felix from coming on the trip with him and the boys. Felix insisted that he would go and said he thought Dirk was fascinating, which attracted him. Felix began flirting with a waitress and Dirk left. In Chapter 56, Dirk, Felix, Franz, and Moritz prepared to leave for the trip to the boys’ uncle. Dirk was reluctant to leave Nastaran. He gave her a walnut as a gift, which he said would smell like Persia. In Chapter 57, Dirk told the boys a story about the Little Lost Forest. Dirk and Felix considered the contrasting qualities of Pythia and Pan. The boys were scared of wolves in the forest, so Dirk spoke of mice instead.
