Simlane

This is where Valerian and the other heroes are participating in a competition. The name seems to apply to the planet, but it could refer only to the city where Valerian and the others begin their quest. The race is in trouble because the people have aged past their ability to complete the grueling trials. The city's buildings are falling into ruin because all the inhabitants are too old to be fully productive, and none are able to complete the quest. One of the guides who meets Valerian and Laureline upon their arrival gives a brief tour, including the Palace of Truth which is a court system, and the Dome of Exchange which is a marketplace. Everything they see is covered with vines and looks as if it need repairs.
