Summary

As the graphic novel opens, a hero later identified as Irmgaal is standing with the people of his planet. He is talking in their language and someone is answering. In the next frame another hero, later identified as Ortzog, is doing the same thing with the people of his planet. In the next frame, another hero, later identified as Blimflim, is seated in a meditation pose as he addresses his people, while other people from his planet speak. In the final panel of the first page of graphics, Valerian is speaking with officials of Earth. The Earth officials urge Valerian to remember that he is representing his entire planet. Valerian says he will not let them down. On the next page, four panels show each of the heroes in their spaceships.
