Chapter 14 Summary

Emily and Lucy have been busy doing chores. The two girls start to confide in each other. Lucy assumes Emily was sent to them because she did something wrong in her own community. Emily tells her it has to do with a boy, thinking about the Isaac situation. Lucy says she's having as similar problem because she met a en English boy her parents don't approve of. She mentions that her sister Leah went off during rumspringa and never returned.

Emily thinks about a text A sent her with a picture of Jenna Cavanaugh and Ali with a caption saying that something doesn't belong. Emily listens as Lucy tells the story of her sister's disappearance and the assumption that Leah is dead.
