Summary

In Chapter 23, Daniel starts his drive to Florida. He thinks about driving through Chinatown and the time he thought he saw Linda. The woman was actually a hooker, but her mannerisms looked like Linda's. One night Daniel fights a man who is making advances on the woman. He walks the woman home and sits with her in her apartment. He thinks about seeing Susan and the legacy he will leave behind.

In Chapter 24, Susan calls Bobby but does not reach him. She goes to Walgreens to buy a pregnancy test. She thinks about her first two abortions. The test is positive. Back at Lois' house, she writes about trying to visit her father in prison. After discovering Daniel is no longer in custody, she drives back to her hometown to see her old house.
