Chapter 27, Eddard, Chapter 28, Catelyn, and Chapter 29, Sansa Summary

After attending routine business, Eddard looks at the book Jon Arryn was reading before his death, Grand Maester Malleon's Lineages of the Great Houses. Eddard's assistant, Jory, arrives to tell Eddard that Littlefinger's leads are not panning out except for the fact Jon Arryn spent a great deal of time with Lord Stannis. Lord Stannis now has gone to Dragonstone and cannot be reached. Eddard suspects Lord Stannis is hiding and does not understand why. Eddard and Jory go to visit the master armorer Tobho Mott, who also received a visit from Jon Arryn and Lord Stannis, and learn they wanted to see a boy apprenticed there, Gendry. Eddard immediately sees Gendry's resemblance to the King when he was younger. Eddard confronts Mott and learns that an unknown lord visited and...
