Grace

Grace is only sixteen when she becomes pregnant with Peach. She thinks that Peach deserves a better life than the one she can provide for her, and selects for her adoptive parents. While she is pregnant, she talks to Peach and forms a bond. It hurts her when she has to part with Peach, and feels as if she has lost a part of herself, a part that belonged to her and simply fit in her body. Her pain motivates her to look for her own birth mother, perhaps to comfort her or to feel tethered again to someone, by blood relation (11).
