Hall of the Mountain King Summary

Eragon awakes in the dragon hold and Saphira urges him to wear his sword, Zar'roc, and forge a new history with the sword that has seen so many bloody battles. As he lands at the gates of Tronjheim, Orik greets Eragon and Saphira with urgent news that King Hrothgar, the king of the dwarves, wishes to speak with them. Orik warns Eragon to speak carefully to his king, but Eragon will not have to address Hrothgar as "King."

Eragon and Saphira are led to Hrothgar, and when he enters the king's presence, he bows, but Hrothgar tells him to rise. Hrothgar tells Eragon that he could not meet with him earlier because many clan leaders did not want to grant Eragon sanctuary. Hrothgar tells Eragon about the history of the dwarves and how his ancestors...
